Our space security team is one of the largest of its kind in the world, with extensive experience from both commercial and military sectors and in all areas of the security lifecycle. We’ve been involved in the development process of international security standards and we play a leading role in helping to advance best practice throughout the space security working group of the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) - the group responsible for defining the standards used by much of the world's space community.

This creates a need for secure systems integration whether that is for shared applications, system architectures or infrastructures and platforms.
Managed security services
The operational cost of running a space infrastructure is growing every day. The resources required to continually update the infrastructure to protect against the ever-changing global threats are significant. We have delivered secure managed systems services throughout Europe for commercial and public sector organisations. Our clients benefit from a reduced cost to run their networks and be able to release their own resources to focus on their core activities in space.
Galileo ground infrastructure
ESA chose us to design the core of the ground infrastructure that controls the 30 satellites and calculates the information broadcast by the satellites to Galileo users. We supported the European Commission, ESA and the Segment prime contractors (Thales Alenia Space and EADS Astrium) with many areas of activity. Through our solution, we managed the commercial and public sector encryption keys, enabled satellite controlling and provided complex algorithmic software to calculate the system integrity and satellite orbits.
Satnav applications
We have delivered operational systems that incorporate satnav elements to clients in many sectors. For instance, taxi and bus fleet management, UK air traffic control (in conjunction with the UK’s first Microwave Landing System) and wide area digital networks for many applications.
We support ESA in the Active Road Management Assisted by Satellite (ARMAS) programme, where we are working with partners to demonstrate virtual tolling using GNSS and EGNOS.
