CGI is delighted to sponsor AccelerateHER 2020 as part of our drive to encourage more women into tech, promote gender equality in the workplace and highlight the achievements of female entrepreneurs.

CGI sponsored AccelerateHER for the first time in 2019 and we are excited to renew such a positive partnership with event founders Investing Women. The AccelerateHER Awards are a celebration of female founders and their potential to build their companies and scale internationally.

The competition has already provided a springboard to growth for finalists and winners by opening doors to new connections and opportunities through the global AccelerateHER network.

With the AccelerateHER awards application period complete, the semi-finals will take place at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology & Innovation Centre in Glasgow and be hosted by CGI. Kirsty Ramsay, Vice President at CGI will sit on the judging panel for a second year running after an exciting first year.

“I look forward to returning to the judging panel for and can’t wait to see the innovative and inspiring ideas from some of Scotland’s most talented female entrepreneurs. Last year set the bar high and this year I hope to see even more organisations with projects that will have a positive impact on the world we live in.”

A total of three finalists from each of the following categories will be chosen to represent their business at the finals in March: Medtech and Science, FinTech and Cybersecurity, CleanTech and Climate and Disruptive Innovation.

Final judging and awards will take place on Thursday 26 March at CodeBase in Edinburgh. hosted by Barclay’s Eagle Lab, where finalists will pitch to the panel of judges and the audience.

CGI’s Vice President for Scotland, Lindsay McGranaghan will speak on the importance of female founders and encouraging them to grow their business internationally. Lindsay said;

“CGI strives to lead the way in training and employing women in tech and our partnership with Investing Women further strengthens our connections with home-grown, grassroots female entrepreneurs, who I believe can make a positive impact both in Scotland and beyond. I look forward to sharing in their journeys and supporting them as they seek to expand their operations.”

CGI will offer its continued support and collaboration to Investing Women throughout the year as part of an approach that already includes running STEM camps and Daughter to Work days to inspire local young people.
