As an active member of Cambridge Wireless (CW), CGI is pleased to be part of the next CW Virtual Networks Special Interest Group (SIG) online event entitled: ‘A reality check for SDN in progress towards 5G network virtualisation’, taking place on 8 September 2020 from 15:00 to 16:30 (BST).
The online event, which will be part of the nationwide 5G week in September, is free to attend and will also offer opportunities for delegates to network virtually.
CGI’s Communications Consulting Director, Andrew Palmer, who is a member of Cambridge Wireless Virtual Network Special Interest Group, has been working with the organising committee to shape the event’s agenda, which will tackle the question of what Software Defined Networking (SDN) is, where it has come from and its practical application in today’s telecommunications networks.
The event will include speakers from Verizon, Colt, and STL Partners, who will provide insight on the use of SDN in commercial telecoms networks and the road towards its usage in wireless networks, as well as barriers to SDN deployment.
