Logica, now part of CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, today announced that is has been shortlisted for two prestigious National Outsourcing Associations (NOA) Awards. The first short-listing is profiled in the BPO Contract of the Year category for its collaborative work with ELEXON. The second award short-listing recognises its Welsh Service Centre in the Shared Service Centre of the Year category.
The BPO Contract of the Year nomination recognises the long-standing and true partnership between Logica, which is now part of CGI, and ELEXON, who administer the Balancing and Settlement Code, which governs the wholesale electricity balancing and settlement arrangements for the UK. This includes running operational business processes, hosting and operating the central balancing and settlement systems and network used by the electricity supply and distribution industry, the meter reading process to support the central settlement functions and a service desk for ELEXON’s customers. The strength of the relationship was also demonstrated by the recent early extension of the BPO contract.
The Shared Services Centre of the Year short-listing recognises the strength of the South Wales service centre based in Bridgend. The submission focussed on the excellence of the integrated services delivered by the team that support some of Logica’s largest clients.
Tim Gregory, President of CGI in the UK said, “Being a finalist in both a client focussed and service provision category of the NOA Awards demonstrates the real depth and strength of our business. These Awards short-listings are recognition of the hard work the client, and teams have put into delivering excellent service.”
The winners of the NOA Awards will be announced on 25th October in London.
