CGI welcomed Canada's High Commissioner to the UK, Bill Blair, to our Manchester office on 10 July to discuss investment, innovation and opportunities to strengthen collaboration between the UK and Canada.

The visit formed part of the High Commissioner's programme to engage with organisations across the UK and gain a better understanding of businesses contributing to economic growth and digital transformation outside London.

Canada High Commissioner visits Manchester

Nigel Jones, Head of Government Affairs at CGI, welcomed the High Commissioner alongside Sarah Cox, Vice-President, Consulting Services, Manchester. The meeting showcased our growing presence in Greater Manchester and our work with public sector organisations across the UK.

Discussions focused on how we help government organisations deliver better services through technology and consulting expertise. The meeting also explored CGI's continued investment in the UK and opportunities to strengthen our relationship with the Canadian High Commission.

Regional innovation hubs like Manchester play a critical role in strengthening the vibrant and trusted economic partnership between Canada and the United Kingdom. We’re proud to see Canadian tech firm CGI leading that charge, drawing on Canadian excellence, expertise, innovation and investment to create prosperity and opportunities for people on both sides of the Atlantic, from Manchester to Montreal and beyond.

The Honourable Bill Blair, High Commissioner for Canada in the United Kingdom

As one of Canada's largest technology and consulting companies, CGI has a long history of supporting clients in the UK through local expertise backed by global capabilities. Building strong relationships with government and industry helps us continue delivering meaningful outcomes for the organisations and communities we serve.

The visit also established the foundation for an ongoing dialogue between CGI and the Canadian High Commission. Bill Blair plans to visit our London office later this year to continue discussions and learn more about our future plans across the UK.

Strengthening international partnerships supports innovation, investment and collaboration. We look forward to continuing these conversations and identifying new opportunities to work together.
