CGI has become one of the first organisations to sign the UK Government's Cyber Resilience Pledge, demonstrating its commitment to strengthening cyber resilience across its own organisation, for its clients, throughout its supply chain and in support of a wider digital UK economy.
Launched by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the voluntary pledge brings together government and industry to encourage organisations to take practical steps that strengthen cyber governance and help mitigate cyber risks.
As organisations become increasingly connected, cyber resilience is fundamental to maintaining trust, protecting critical services and enabling innovation. It also plays an important role in strengthening the UK's digital sovereignty by helping ensure critical systems, data and services remain secure and resilient. At CGI, cyber resilience is embedded in how we operate. It underpins how we protect our own business, deliver secure digital services to our clients, and work with partners and suppliers across the UK.
At the launch event at 10 Downing Street, Tara McGeehan, President, UK & Australia, represented CGI as one of the first signatories to the pledge. As an early signatory, CGI supports the pledge's three core actions:
- Making cyber security a Board responsibility through the Cyber Governance Code of Practice
- Signing up to the National Cyber Security Centre's (NCSC) Early Warning service
- Taking a risk-based approach to requiring Cyber Essentials across the supply chain
Tara McGeehan, President, CGI UK & Australia, said:
"Cyber resilience is fundamental to how we operate as a business and how we support our clients. It is about maintaining trust, ensuring continuity and enabling organisations to adapt with confidence in the digital world. Signing the Government's Cyber Resilience Pledge reflects our belief that resilience is a shared responsibility, and that Government and Industry must work together to strengthen the UK's digital economy. We are proud to support this important initiative."
Cyber Security Minister Liz Lloyd said:
"As one of the first to sign the Cyber Resilience Pledge, CGI is sending a clear message to their customers, investors and supply chains that cyber resilience is a core part of how they do business. The cyber threat facing the UK is serious, growing, and evolving fast because of AI. These first signatories are showing how the whole country needs to respond, by taking practical and achievable steps to bolster their cyber defences and secure everyone's growth and prosperity."
Cyber resilience is fundamental to CGI's approach to responsible business. By embedding it in the way we operate, we help create long-term value for our clients, our people and our shareholders, while contributing to a stronger and more resilient UK digital economy.
