CGI was honoured to welcome UK Tech Minister Ian Murray, and Rob Tinline, British High Commissioner to Canada, to its global headquarters in Montréal on December 10. Following the recent G7 Tech Ministers meeting, it was a valuable opportunity for them to meet CGI leaders and hear how our continued investment is supporting digital innovation, economic growth, productivity and job creation across the UK.
The delegation joined CGI leadership including François Boulanger, President and Chief Executive Officer of CGI, for productive discussions on digital government, data and the innovative use of technology, including AI. CGI also shared insight into our Metro Model — local delivery supported by global capability — and the opportunities for the UK and Canada to learn from one another as they advance modern, secure digital services.
The visit took place against the backdrop of the G7, where strengthened UK–Canada cooperation on AI, data and digital innovation underlined the need for trusted, sovereignty-ready technology partnerships. These strategic themes aligned with practical discussions on how CGI can help turn digital ambition into delivery.
The meeting reinforced a shared commitment to accelerating delivery and improving outcomes for citizens through secure, scalable and modern public services.
Kevin O’Neill, Senior Vice-President and Business Leader for Government and Justice, commented: “CGI has an established track record of working with the UK Government, and this visit was a valuable opportunity to explore how we can further accelerate the delivery and implementation of technology that underpins essential public services for UK citizens.”
CGI extends its thanks to Minister Murray, Rob Tinline and their teams for taking the time to visit and looks forward to continued collaboration.
