CGI service desk the first in the world to receive 5 star Accreditation from the Service Desk Institute

Edwina Hart, the Welsh Minister for Economy, Science and Transport today visited CGI’s world-leading UK service desk. CGI’s UK service desk based in Waterton, South Wales is the first in the world to achieve 5 star accreditation from the Service Desk Institute (SDI) in recognition of the business’s commitment to continually improving customer service levels.

The 5-Star Accreditation is a definition of the ultimate levels of quality and delivery for world-class service desks and serves as an aspirational guide for all service management organisations.

Minister for the Economy, Edwina Hart said: ”I am delighted to be able to present this Award to CGI. It is a great achievement to be recognised for the highest levels of customer service and to be the first company to achieve both the 4 star and 5 star service desk certification. We are proud to have a leading organisation like CGI operating out of Wales.”

Tim Gregory, UK President, CGI said, ”We were delighted to welcome Assembly Member Edwina Hart to Waterton office today. The Service Desk Institute Accreditation presented by AM Hart is testament to the hard work of our team and their commitment to providing outstanding levels of service.”

The UK service desk team is comprised of 220 highly trained employees who support more than 180 clients across the public and private sector. The SDI carried out a four day audit incorporating feedback from clients and staff, and worked alongside employees to understand the level of service they provide to a broad range of customers.

CGI has around 1,900 skilled members based in South Wales providing service desks, contact centres, data centres and application services and development for CGI’s clients. CGI has been consistently investing and developing its business in South Wales for over ten years.
