CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced it has been approved by CESG, the UK Government's National Technical Authority for Information Assurance to perform Tailored Assurance Scheme (CTAS), Commercial Product Assurance (CPA) security evaluations and CESG Assured Services (CAS). CGI is the only accredited test lab in the UK that is currently able to perform Common Criteria, CTAS CPA evaluations along with CAS.

CGI will offer the test and evaluation services for all public sector customers to ensure they offer the security provided to protect our national infrastructure and citizen data. CTAS is intended to provide assurance for a wide range of HM Government, Ministry of Defence, Critical National Infrastructure and public sector customers procuring IT systems, products and services, ranging from simple software components to national infrastructure networks. The CPA scheme was introduced nearly two years ago by CESG as a UK specific scheme to evaluate commercial security products for use by government, the wider public sector and industry.
