Food Forensics is a UKAS-accredited laboratory specialising in food authenticity, safety and traceability. Its cloud-based knowledge base offers global insights to help clients manage risks in complex food supply chains. A highly skilled team manually curated this platform, sourcing, validating and analysing data from multiple channels - a process that was time-consuming and labour-intensive.
To enhance efficiency and accuracy, Food Forensics partnered with CGI. Following an in-depth discovery phase, CGI recommended using intelligent automation and machine learning techniques - such as clustering, sentiment analysis, entity extraction and summarisation - to streamline content curation while retaining expert human oversight. Food Forensics received expert recommendations within eight weeks.

Exploring the potential for applying AI to our Knowledge Base with the CGI team was enlightening and straightforward. At every point, we felt that the team were focused on our specific needs and not trying to fit us into an AI ‘box’. We’re confident CGI can bring the expertise we need to realise our AI ambitions as the technology develops.
