The Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council Smart Place R&D (Research and Development) Consortium is a community working together to deliver pilot projects and solve real challenges with highly innovative technologies. Through the consortium, the council are enabling and supporting the digital technologies adoption in the BCP Council area.

Led by BCP Council, the Smart Place R&D Consortium is driving productivity and innovation. They are creating an entirely new ecosystem where new business models will support sustainable growth.

We are working with the council to support the creation of digital solutions with Smart Place technologies helping to provide a number of benefits to local communities from improvements for residents through to supporting the local economy.

The Consortium aims to solve real challenges in the community:

  • Enabling Industry 4.0
  • Improving sustainability
  • Supporting local businesses
  •

The R&D Consortium is about bringing together organisations with problems to be solved and technology companies who can develop and implement the most innovative solution. We look forward to working with BCP and the wider Consortium on their Smart Place Journey
