CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) has appointed Niraj Sood as head of its Manufacturing Business Unit in Finland. Sood will be responsible for a unit supporting manufacturing clients in their strategic business transformations and modernisations. With this appointment, he will also join CGI's management team in Finland.
“Niraj Sood will be responsible for a broad range of services and solutions for digitalisation, transformation, sustainability and green transformation in the manufacturing sector. Global uncertainty in value and supply chains, difficulties in the energy sector and the green transition are creating challenges, but also entirely new business opportunities. Technologies often provide solutions to address these challenges," says Leena-Mari Lähteenmaa, President of CGI Finland, Poland and Baltics.
"We want to turn these megatrends into new growth opportunities for our clients and I am very pleased that we have been able to attract Niraj Sood to lead the growth of our industrial sector. He has a strong and comprehensive understanding of both our customers' industry and the IT services market and how to harness technologies to meet our customers' needs," Lähteenmaa continues.
"The manufacturing sector is at the centre of many interesting trends: perhaps the most significant of which are rapid industry renewal, utilisation of digitalisation and environmental efforts. CGI is the leading IT services provider in Finland and as an expert of choice, it is in a very interesting position. It is a pleasure to join a well-managed and profitably growing company with high member satisfaction", says Niraj Sood.
Niraj Sood starts as a Senior Vice President Consulting Services at CGI on April 3rd. Previously, he has worked in various management positions for international IT firms in Finland, UK, India and Germany.
