Work environment is amiable and filled with highly talented professionals

Meet Zane, our colleague from CGI Latvia Delivery Center. Zane works as a Sharepoint consultant and spends a lot of time interacting with clients, helping to customize their intranets (internal communication portals). Her day is usually busy working on multiple projects, interacting with clients, analyzing the requirements, and configuring Sharepoint solution based on client needs. She also works on projects related to process automation.

One of the highlights Zane remembers the most is when she received the „Break Through of the Year“ award from her colleagues. During the annual achievement celebration event, she received this token of appreciation for her outstanding contribution to the team during the very first year at Acando (now part of CGI).

We asked Zane, what gets her inspired working in CGI. And she happily says that the environment is amiable and also filled with highly talented professionals. CGI provides her immense opportunities to collaborate with teams across the globe. She is very keen to learn and advance her skills.

Zane shares her tips for staying productive while working from home. She says one of the most important aspects is to maintain a regular work routine; get up early (her robotic vacuum cleaner has an alarm clock that wakes her up before starting its scheduled tasks), set-up a designated and comfortable home office, prepare meals in advance to avoid work creep. According to Zane, it‘s important to exercise and stretch regularly, which are important for productivity. She enjoys a short walk during breaks, which keeps her energized throughout the day.

Zane enjoys working with professionals in different parts of the world. However, the time-zone difference is quite challenging for her. When she was completing a task around noontime, her client in Asia was almost signing off for the day. Nowadays, she plans her day carefully and takes steps to alleviate these kinds of problems. Zane is proud to be part of a multicultural organization that provides her immense opportunities to learn and grow.
