On April 26, 2022, a team of 8 OP team members and 7 CGI professionals gathered for an environment activity where 60 saplings were planted at Somasundarapalya Lake in Bangalore to support the rehabilitation of the area and increase green lung space in the city landscape. |
Later in the day, together, CGI and OP flagged off a customized school bus that serves students of Welfare Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled and Society (WARDS), a non-government organization supporting students with intellectual disabilities from underprivileged backgrounds. |
CGI originally set up a digital laboratory for the school to promote inclusion and digital literacy. With the expansion of the support to include transportation to address challenges traveling to school, students will now have the opportunity to learn and grow. |
Pekka Puustinen, Deputy CEO at Pohjola Insurance Ltd said, “Its truly an honor to be part of the society that we create and it’s highly important that we share the same kind of values.”
Tapani Ojaluoma, Senior Vice-President and Business Unit Leader, CGI Finland, echoed, “It has been a pleasure visiting Bengaluru with the OP team, and it is great to see both companies sharing the same values and ethics in helping communities.”
Rakesh Aerath, Senior Vice President and Business Unit Leader, Asia Pacific Financial Services Delivery Center, said “It’s really wonderful that we are able to do something for the community and doing it with our clients and with our professionals is really special.”
