Montréal (Québec), 4 août 2003

ING Re, one of the leading companies in the life reinsurance industry, has selected CGI to develop a component-based development (CBD)
application to support the administration, claims and billing functions for all of its group reinsurance products, including life,
disability, medical and managed care, and special risk. CGI was selected for this project after a highly successful implementation
of a CBD application for ING Re's individual life products. CGI delivered the application with fully customized functionality at a cost
and cycle time of a packaged solution.

What CBD delivers

CGI's component-based development is more affordable than traditional custom applications, requires a shorter cycle time, and
delivers customized functionality. "We chose CGI because they offer a depth of resources combined with an offshore delivery model
that maintained quality and reduced our IT expenses," said Larry Erb, vice president and chief information officer of ING Re. "The
reinsurance market is highly competitive and CGI helped us gain a market advantage with flexibility and functionality beyond our
expectations to deliver better products to our customers."

CGI domain expertise

CGI's application development experts have overseen large-scale projects for Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies, working with
a wide range of technologies. Its applications development clients represent a broad cross-section of industries, including insurance
and financial services, government, retail, manufacturing and utilities.
