(TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB), today announced the latest release of its FSIO certified financial management and procurement software solution for the U.S. federal government, Momentum® 6.2. Building on its established leadership in financial management software for the U.S. federal government, Momentum 6.2 incorporates new features that enhance agencies’ ability to meet federal government compliance, public accountability and Protection of Personally Identifiable Identification (PII) standards and requirements.

- Enabling standardization - Momentum 6.2 provides a number of features in support of OMB initiatives to increase standardization and interoperability across the federal government such as web services and enhanced service oriented architecture (SOA), evolving CGAC standards, and government-wide accounting initiatives.
- Reducing Cost and Risk - The latest release of Momentum includes the Rapid Momentum Implementation methodology that distills CGI’s 30 years of implementation expertise into an implementation toolkit which includes a configured Momentum database to reduce costs and facilitate agency standardization.
- Improving performance and efficiency - Momentum 6.2 is integrated with FedBid, the market-leading reverse auction site allowing agencies to streamline and maximize value for commodity buys. It also incorporates a configurable user experience to increase the efficiency of each user.
- Compliance and public accountability - Momentum 6.2 is fully integrated with budget performance measures and enables government compliance monitoring consistent with the requirements of OMB Circular A-123. Features such as enhanced budgeting flexibility, statistical sampling for internal and external audits, traceability to financial statements and enhanced workflow for delegation enable agencies to comply with legal mandates.
- Protection of Personally Identifiable Identification (PII) - Momentum has enhancements such as distributed system security, and utilities to purge all PII from non-production environments.
