Gonçalo Lança holds a degree in Management and a postgraduate qualification in Foresight, Strategy and Innovation.
With more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Gonçalo has built his career at CGI, progressing through a variety of leadership roles. He began as a consultant before taking on responsibilities as Project Manager, Account Manager and Practice Leader, developing extensive experience across technology delivery, client engagement and business growth.
For the last six years, Gonçalo has led CGI's Global Delivery Center (GDC) Portugal, a team of more than 700 professionals delivering services across 15 countries for over 40 clients. His focus has been on implementing a sustainable growth strategy that strengthens client competitiveness, creates development opportunities for CGI members and delivers long-term value for all stakeholders.
Since April 2026, Gonçalo has also played a pivotal role in establishing CGI's first global Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (AI CoE), based in Portugal. The AI CoE was created to accelerate the industrialization of AI across CGI by combining innovation, delivery excellence and talent development. Under his leadership, it has become an integral part of the GDC operating model, driving the adoption of responsible and scalable AI solutions, developing specialized capabilities, fostering collaboration with universities and technology partners, and supporting CGI teams and clients worldwide in turning AI from experimentation into measurable business value.
