Alessandro Marin is an expert in Earth Observation (EO) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), with many years of experience supporting ESA across a wide range of exploitation and innovation projects. At ESRIN, he contributed to the Application Exploitation Platform (AEP) programme, supporting the setup, deployment, and pre-operations of multiple Thematic Exploitation Platforms at European level, aimed at maximizing the exploitation of EO data.
Alessandro leads CGI’s Space business in Italy and is Product Manager of Insula, the Earth Observation Platform-as-a-Service and core service of DestinE and ESA MAAP, enabling scalable access to and analysis of large-scale EO and climate data. He also acts as Industry Scientific Coordinator for the ESA Φsat-2 mission, a pioneering initiative that demonstrates the use of AI directly onboard satellites.
