P27 Nordic Payments and the international IT services company CGI have entered into an agreement which means that CGI delivers high-security classified IT infrastructure to P27 Nordic Payments' offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki.
The bank-owned company P27 Nordic Payments has been formed to develop and launch a modern, Nordic payment infrastructure for national and cross-border payments in Nordic currencies.
The development of technology in the financial sector is rapid and the industry is characterized by very high demands on regulatory compliance and security. The infrastructure services that CGI delivers to P27 must maintain the highest possible availability, while at the same time ensuring compliance with today's and tomorrow's regulations.
“The choice of CGI as a supplier for office IT and networking is based, among other things, on CGI's strong market position in the Nordic financial sector and their experience of delivering IT solutions for players operating in tightly regulated environments with the accompanying requirements. The fact that CGI is also locally present in all countries in which P27 is established is also a contributing factor. We look forward to a rewarding collaboration and partnership ", says Bjarne Lunde, CIO and head of IT at P27.
“The establishment of P27 means a paradigm shift in the payment market, where payments within the Nordic region will now be significantly more flexible, more secure and faster than before. We are very happy and proud to be able to provide secure solutions in office IT that P27 demands,” says Leif Alama, Senior Vice President at CGI in Sweden.
CGI is already a supplier of outsourced high-security classified IT solutions and services to, among others, the Riksbank and Bankgirot.
Founded in 1976, CGI is among the largest independent IT and business consulting services firms in the world. With 84,000 consultants and professionals across the globe, CGI delivers an end-to-end portfolio of capabilities, from strategic IT and business consulting to systems integration, managed IT and business process services and intellectual property solutions. CGI works with clients through a local relationship model complemented by a global delivery network that helps clients digitally transform their organizations and accelerate results.
