What personal data do we collect?

The following personal data is usually collected:

  • master data such as name and salutation;
  • contact details, such as email address and phone number (if necessary);
  • additional personal information, such as job title, employer or the questions or comments you submit;
  • your IP address;
  • information about your areas of interest.

Providing this information is voluntary.

What are the purposes and legal bases for the data processing?

We process your personal data in compliance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and in line with our Privacy Policy.

You may only subscribe to our newsletter if we are allowed to process your personal data within the European Union or other countries. If you are from a country that only allows the processing of your personal data in your home country, we ask for your understanding that our offer is not directed at you and that you are therefore also not allowed to subscribe to our newsletter.

a)    Newsletter subscription based on your consent

If you would like to register for a newsletter on our website, we require the information marked as mandatory in the corresponding registration mask. The unmarked input fields can be filled out optionally by you. The provision of your personal data is voluntary. If you decide against providing the data we have marked as mandatory, you will not be able to register successfully.

If you choose to receive a particular newsletter, we will identify your areas of interest so that we can tailor newsletter content accordingly.

Once you register for a CGI newsletter, you will receive an email from us asking you to confirm your registration to us. With this step we make sure that you have registered yourself for the newsletter and that there is no registration by a third party. After you have confirmed, the registration process is complete and you will receive our newsletter until you unsubscribe or we stop sending it.

The legal basis for this data processing is your respective consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a) GDPR, by which you allow us to pursue the purposes described above.

b)    Product information in the legitimate interest of CGI

In addition to the newsletter subscription based on consent, we may contact you with information about our products in the legitimate interest of CGI according to Art. 6 (1) f) GDPR. This so-called direct advertising (Section 7(3) of the German Act against Unfair Competition (UWG)) may always take place, if (i) you have previously purchased services or goods from us, (ii) we use your email address for advertising on similar CGI-owned products, (iii) you have not objected to this use and (iv) we inform you of your right to object when collecting and further using your email address.
If we, as data controller, intend to process your personal data for a purpose other than that for which the personal data was collected, we will provide you with information about that other purpose and any other relevant information prior to such further processing.

How long is your data stored?

If you have given your consent to receive information about future newsletters, we will store your data for this purpose until you withdraw your consent or CGI discontinues the service. If you withdraw your consent by unsubscribing from all newsletters, your email address will be processed in a restricted manner for the future to avoid sending future newsletters to this address.

Who receives your data?

Your data will be used by us for the purpose of registration and for sending our e-mail advertising and will be passed on to order processors used by us within the EU. The registration, maintenance and the dispatch of the newsletter is carried out by our processors: HubSpot, Inc. 25 First Street, Cambridge, MA 02141 USA, with servers located in Germany.

Within our group of companies, only those persons and departments will receive your personal data that are directly involved in the newsletter creation and management (mainly the advertising CGI marketing department, system administrators and, in exceptional cases, the CGI contact persons for the respective business units).
Beyond the recipients described above, your data will not be disclosed to third parties outside the CGI group of companies, unless this is necessary to comply with legal obligations.

What rights can you assert as a data subject?

As a data subject, you have the right to obtain information about the personal data concerning you, as well as the right to have inaccurate data corrected or to have it deleted, provided that one of the reasons stated in Art. 17 of the GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued. There is also the right to restriction of processing if one of the conditions set out in Art. 18 GDPR applies and, in the cases of Art. 20 GDPR, the right to data portability.

Moreover, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data (Art. 21 GDPR), to the extent that we process this data based on our legitimate interest, or you can withdraw your previously granted consent at any time with effect for the future by sending an email to info.de@cgi.com or via the “unsubscribe” link in one of our newsletters (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

To exercise your rights as a data subject, you may also contact us by e-mail (datenschutz.de@CGI.com) or in writing (CGI Deutschland B.V. & Co. KG, Leinfelder Straße 60, 70771 Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany).

In the event that you consider your rights from the GDPR to have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority responsible for data protection against the processing of your personal data. The supervisory authority responsible for CGI is the data protection and freedom of information officer for the state of Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg – https://www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de/).
