RMS Operate Plus for 24x7 control rooms features Generator Detail screen
The RMS Operator Plus module responds to the challenging requirements of clients who use a 24x7 control room, where they carry out the supervision and control of a large portfolio of assets in real time.
A key part of the control room setup is the Generator Detail screen, which features detailed generator information, from manufacturer catalogue data to real-time values and historical records. If an operator finds problems in a particular wind turbine or solar inverter anywhere in the system, they can navigate to the Generator Detail screen and check the asset’s past, present and expected future operating status.
Data such as fault history, maintenance plans and real-time measurements help the user to understand the causes of the problem, while production trends, weather forecasts and predicted failures allow the operator to evaluate its impact.
Designed according to the best user experience practices, the generator timeline is a good example of how this information is displayed to the operator. It displays the recent history of the generator, from status changes and events, to planned interventions and predicted failures, in a simple and easy to understand way.
With all this information on hand, the operator can decide on the best course of action to resolve the problem. For wind generators, they can even take action directly in the command panel by stopping, resetting or restricting the turbine’s power output.

Recap from CanWEA, Calgary
At the Canadian Wind Energy Association’s (CanWEA) annual conference held in October, CGI showcased new RMS features and also had the opportunity to meet and connect with energy experts from around the world.
With 1,000 attendees and 100 exhibiting companies converging on Calgary, Canada, our RMS experts were kept very busy.
If you missed meeting us there, just drop us a line and we will bring you up to speed on all the latest RMS developments.
Next time…
In the next edition of this newsletter, we’ll give you a tour of the RMS performance summary dashboard—a user-customizable tool that enables a full scope analysis of power plants and generators, from wind to solar.
You’ll learn how to set up early detection of production deviations, visualize performance losses, and even identify the root causes of issues that have the greatest impact on production.Don’t miss it!
