London, United Kingdom, 06 December 2023

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), one of the largest IT and business consulting services firms in the world, today announced its support for ‘BlueTusk’, the Vodafone Foundation team competing in the World’s Toughest Row 2023, a once-in-a-lifetime challenge in which teams and individuals row across the Atlantic. The race, which starts on 12 December 2023, is a demanding 3,000 miles row from La Gomera, Canary Islands to Antigua and Barbuda.

As a platinum sponsor, CGI is supporting Team BlueTusk to highlight the urgent need to protect our planet’s wildlife and habitats, raising funds for two important charities that Vodafone Foundation is supporting: Tusk and the Blue Marine Foundation.

CGI is a longstanding partner to Vodaphone, and sponsorship of Team BlueTusk’s challenge demonstrates the shared commitment to sustainability and the environment, with both companies having invested in energy-efficient technology and working towards becoming net zero.

Tara McGeehan, President, CGI UK & Australia said of its sponsorship, “Team BlueTusk is the perfect demonstration of what can be accomplished when people unite behind a common goal. They embody determination, spirit and togetherness. We jumped at the chance to sponsor the team, not only because it supports our commitment to sustainability and campaigning for the health of the planet and its wildlife, but it’s also a great illustration of our collaborative relationship with Vodafone and our shared purpose.”

The BlueTusk team comprises adventure enthusiasts from Vodafone, a unique ensemble of individuals with backgrounds including a veteran of 11 Ironman races, a former British Army rower and a former Royal Marine turned competitive cyclist. This dynamic trio are harnessing their experience in physical endurance and teamwork to compete in the race.

Chris Wood, Vodafone Group and BlueTusk team member commented, “This challenge serves as a powerful reminder that progress doesn't happen on its own - action needs to be taken collectively if we want our planet to survive long term. Rowing with purpose, we’re advocates for a sustainable future, raising awareness for our ocean health and wildlife preservation.”
