Well, my career started in the Customer Support area. I was very young, without any work experience and I got to learn a lot about what customer experience means, how to approach different type of people and how to deal with the unhappy ones. If I look back, I would have to say the experience was tough, but it changed the way I perceive people in general, not only when they have the “customer” hat on.

 

How can a woman be successful in a “man's world”?

In my opinion, women can be successful in any domain they want. From where I am standing, I think the 2 statuses have aligned a lot over time, both professional and personal. The 2 genders have their own specific qualities, but I think each of us understands better “the other side” and try to work together, taking into account our best features. This might be the “secret”, in fact. Acknowledging each other’s strengths and working together to build an unbeatable team.

Why women should pursue a career in IT?

As I said before, I think women can pursue a career in any domain they feel like. The IT domain might suit them because of their developed intuitive qualities that can help them see beyond certain aspects and facts.

A piece of advice all women should hear?

Even if it sounds like a cliché, my advice to my fellow sisters is to believe in yourselves. It will make the difference. J
