Stephanie Mango

"The Fabric of Digital Government," moderated by CGI Senior Vice President Stephanie Mango

Monday Oct 21 from 10:30-11:30 AM

As the U.S. federal government continues on its journey to digitally transform its mission, operations, and citizen services, there are three consistent challenges: people continue to respond differently to change, technology continues to evolve, and innovation continues to be a tough balancing act of maintaining today’s reliability with tomorrow’s possibilities. Best practices are emerging in digital transformation across the interconnect fabric of people, process and technology. Our panelists will talk about their successes in their agencies' transformation journeys, balancing people, process and tech challenges. Our discussion will cover strategic and pragmatic aspects, so attendees leave with practical ideas that can be applied within their own initiatives.

"Past, Present & Future of FITARA and IT Modernization," moderated by CGI Vice President Vera Ashworth

Tuesday Oct 22 from 10:30-11:20 AM

IT Modernization has accelerated across government via the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) and its famous scorecard, as well as the Technology Modernization Fund (TMF), Centers of Excellence (COEs) and the Federal Data Strategy. Five years in, hear from the architects of FITARA implementation. Current CIOs will explain how they have implemented FITARA, including agencies that have leveraged ACT-IAC’s recently updated IT Modernization Maturity Model. Expect these experts to go beyond the immediate concerns of cost savings and improved FITARA scores. They will share their vision to reach the true destination--a modern, digital government that meets the mission and transforms the citizen experience.

"Info-sharing: Helping Address the Opioid Crisis" featuring CGI Senior Vice President Dr. Jim Peake and CGI Vice President Brad Schoffstall.

Topics include the health information exchange, data management, records management CX, and shared services.

Exchanging health information between entities within the federal health ecosystem has historically been hampered by the lack of a common lexicon and inconsistent coding systems. CGI Federal is helping significantly reduce these problems, making information sharing much more feasible to the benefit of citizens. In partnership with the Federal Health Architecture (FHA) under the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), CGI Federal has helped develop and refine the CONNECT health information-sharing platform, an e-gov software solution that facilitates the secure exchange of healthcare information for 2,000-plus organizations across the U.S. CONNECT is available to all organizations as downloadable open source software. CGI Federal has partnered on CONNECT since 2010, providing exchange compatibility, development, program management, end-user support and training, and open source community management and support, helping facilitate a new era of records and data exchange.
