Position Description

CGI is seeking a marketing and communications professional to join our Global Marketing program, the Best of CGI. The Best of CGI program is a multi-channel publication that highlights CGI’s innovative solutions through compelling and creative content. It reaches an internal audience of 20,000+ people across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

Meaningful research skills are required to locate story content, sourced from all channels of the organization and content is based on current IT business trends. The audience is geographically dispersed and at varying seniority levels. The publication drives knowledge sharing and helps establish a collaborative innovative community across CGI.

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who delivers results, brings fresh and creative ideas to engage audiences. Candidate should be skilled transforming highly technical content into compelling human-interest short stories. The role requires a strong writer with experience in digital, print, and social media. The candidate must be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, skilled at both creative thinking and tactical execution.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Work with team to identify and collect success stories across the organization. Content will largely focus on client implementation successes.
• Create content that is both compelling and meaningful to audience
• Build global network to collect relevant content that will be used to create short stories, videos, podcasts, and global news articles
• Take often complex technical concepts and develop into understandable communications for audience
• Consistently use CGI brand and tone of voice on all communications

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• 3+ years in communications, publishing, social media, digital marketing, or other related fields
• Demonstrated aptitude to understand complex technical topics, and translate/write those concepts into understandable and creative narratives
• Be a flexible writer skilled at both starting from a blank piece of paper and refining existing content
• Strong ability to edit and proofread, especially one’s own work
• Ability to work with a distributed, global team
• Collaborative disposition
• Strong problem solving skills and detail oriented
• Ability to see constraints as a challenge with an open mind and desire to innovate
