CGI has been at the heart of every change in the UK energy market since privatisation and an active member of Energy UK - the energy industry trade association - for many years.

We were the first and, until very recently, the only ICT company to be a member organisation of Energy UK.  Our membership and active involvement with Energy UK demonstrates our long term commitment to the success of our clients and the sector as a whole. The Energy UK 2014 Annual Conference 'Affording the future: the economics of energy' focused on how Britain can balance affordability, clean generation and keeping the gas and electricity flowing reliably to homes and business.

At the conference, Energy UK launched an in-depth news style programme entitled ‘An affordable Energy Future’ made by ITN Productions about the energy industry and presented by Natasha Kaplinski, national news reader.  The programme aims to demonstrate the commitment of the energy sector to society as a whole and features some of the work of leading organisations in the industry.

CGI was delighted to contribute to the news programme with interviews by Tara McGeehan, CGI UK Energy & Utilities VP and Rich Hampshire, Smart Utilities Partner, talking about CGI’s role in the UK energy market and the importance of smart meters in building an affordable energy future.
