Cyber Scotland Week draws together events across Scotland to showcase the innovation taking place across the sector, while raising awareness of good cyber resilience practice and promoting a career within the industry.
It will bring together influencers, experts and the next generation of talent to explore and learn about the innovation and challenges in this fast-changing threat landscape.
While cyber threats are global, challenges vary locally and are unique to each organisation. CGI applies industry expertise, deep technical and business knowledge, as well as best practices and frameworks to help clients embed controls into their processes and systems.
Information security is a priority for Glasgow City Council, and having participated successfully in Cyber Scotland Week last year, they are keen to remind staff about the importance of looking after the information of service users, staff and citizens as we deliver services.
As Glasgow City Council’s ICT provider, CGI will aim to increase awareness of Cyber Security threats within the workplace and personal lives. A joint team will hold drop-in events over lunchtime at various Council venues to talk to staff about Cyber threats and how to avoid them, and to demonstrate some simple tools to check how “Cyber Savvy” staff are.
The events in Glasgow are headed up by CGI’s Chief Information Security Office John Bruce and are just part of the cyber initiatives CGI is running across Scotland, with other events including Cyber meet-ups, presentations and visits to local schools to educate children on cyber security.
CGI has a 40+-year heritage of creating and securing critical business systems in complex environments across the globe. CGI works closely with international security associations and standards bodies and has a global network of eight security operations centres. Through these centres, CGI supports hundreds of commercial and government clients with continuous network monitoring, log management and other managed security services to improve the security posture of our clients.
