Required qualifications to be successful in this role
We’re looking for demonstrable experience as a Data Scientist, who can demonstrate an excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms (neural networks and some of: k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.). We’re looking for core experience with common data science toolkits (Python, NumPy, MatLab, Tensorflow, keras, etc, with a likelihood of core skills in one of these).
Overall, we are interested in hiring someone with solid applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc., who is looking to progress their career in a progressive and forward thinking environment. Suffice to say we are also looking for well-developed interpersonal skills - clear, concise – with a passion for latest business innovations and their application to clients’ challenges.
Any one of these skills would be of interest but not essential:
• Experience with data visualisation tools (Matpotlib, GGplot, PowerBi etc.)
• Proficiency in using query languages (SQL, Hive, Pig, etc.)
• Database expertise across NoSQL databases (such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, etc.)
You will need to be keen to learn and develop and CGI will provide you the support and training to help achieve this.
