Java Developer

Position Description

CGI is looking for a Java Developer to work in our Global Delivery Center in Sacavém and be a key part of our nearshore projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As a Developer on our team, you will be working on several big initiatives within the business. This role will require communication and interaction with multiple internal and external clients to ensure each module interacts properly with each other. The Developer will also troubleshoot issues and develop new enhancements to achieve targeted results. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and participating in daily scrums
Participate in planning tasks and supporting team leaders in coordination of activities
Elicit and document client requirements
Design software modules that interact with larger software project
Participating in Java component development according to team best practices
Performing unit tests on developed components and lead other tests according to team methods and procedures

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

- Solid knowledge in GIT / Bitbucket;
- Participation in projects using Agile methodology;
- Experience in the implementation of applications using Angular 2 (or higher);
- Experience in the implementation of REST services using Java 8 (or higher);
- Solid knowledge in relational databases (Oracle);
- Ability to analyze relational models of entities;
- Ability to interpret / create / change PL / SQL code.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Willingness to travel (UK)

Extra Requirements (nice to have):
- Ability to interpret Oracle Forms;
- Knowledge and experience in integration tools (preferably Mulesoft);
- Experience in implementing solutions using Progress OpenEdge 12.
