Director, IP Investment Strategy
Position Description
The Director of IP Investment Strategy is responsible for driving profitable IP investment strategies globally. The Director will act as a subject matter expert providing best practice guidance on alignment to CGI’s IP strategy, portfolio management & investment planning. The role works across Industry sectors and SBU regions to identify & prioritise the development of business solutions aligned to market and client requirements. The role requires a combination of commercial insight and management judgement to drive strategy alongside detailed analytical rigour and financial awareness.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Identify & develop investment cases aligned to CGI’s IP strategy objectives
• Manage all aspects of the IP investment process & drive continuous improvement to deliver best in class decision making tools & investment cases
• Responsible for driving increased focus on market assessments, GTM strategies, revenue projections alignment & financial projections across all IP investments
• Collaborate across teams to identify new investments in IP & development of investment plans aligned with market & client requirements
• Knowledgeable across CGI’s IP portfolio to identify portfolio synergies, overlaps & gaps when supporting investment strategies
• Responsible for portfolio management & investment pattern analytics to recommend & influence plans to maintain a profitable IP mix
• Responsible for maintaining the IP management framework (IPMF) to provide IP strategy best practices
• Manage the ongoing governance of program updates & business case performance
• Develop & Drive Key IP Strategy Transformation Initiatives
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 10+ years of experience supporting and managing investment strategy
• Proven track record of leading strategy & investment plans in enterprise & B2B software solutions, with demonstrated expertise in portfolio management
• Commercial awareness to drive solid Go To Market Plans for CGI IP Solutions
• Exhibits a passion for understanding IP growth strategies and execution methodologies
• Ability to influence various constituents, including senior management, by communicating concepts clearly and credibly to multiple audiences
• Superior strategic, analytical, problem solving, cross-functional influence and organisational skills
