24th of March EGNOS, the GNSS Performance Enhancer by Nick Poelstra

GPS and Galileo, two Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) that most people have heard of. However, the vital Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) that improve the performance of GNSS are less known. Weird, because SBAS are widespread use in sectors like Aviation, Agriculture, and Search and Rescue. In this lunch lecture, Nick Poelstra Team Lead EGNOS/SPEED, will introduce you to the world of SBAS and EGNOS specifically. What is it? Why do we need it? How does it work and what’s CGI’s role in this? These questions will be answered throughout the presentation.

In two months, you will learn about software development, Agile workflow, and essentials space topics. This is all combined into a creative and team-oriented space case study, which finalizes the first step of your career in CGI. Join our lunch lecture to learn about the experiences of the Space Graduate Class of two former participants Chy and Lanleigh!

GNSS Centre of Excellence creates awareness, combines knowledge and helps government, industry and users to improve the resilience of GNSS-based applications, in and around Europe. CGI Netherlands is one of the founders of this corporation with industry and government partners, join the session to hear more.

23rd of June – Space Data Services by Maikel Lukkezen

Space data services is the platform of the future. Where cloud computing, machine learning and military helicopters all come together. The techniques and space data used by this platform will be presented during this dynamic lunch lecture.
