Rakesh Aerath is President of CGI’s Asia Pacific Global Delivery Centers of Excellence, leading a team of approximately 20,000 professionals and consultants across India, Malaysia and the Philippines. In this role, he partners with CGI’s client-facing business units to help clients accelerate their digital transformation through innovative and high-value services and solutions.
An accomplished leader with a penchant for innovation and achieving the highest levels of operational excellence, prior to this appointment, Rakesh served as a Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for APAC, responsible for the financial services, communications, media and enterprise, global technology operations business units and various other strategic initiatives across APAC.
In the last 25 years in CGI, Rakesh has held various leadership roles within CGI, overseeing some of the largest client accounts in the banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, and energy and utilities industries.
In 2014, Rakesh was recognized as a CGI builder for his significant contributions over the years to CGI and for generating value across our three stakeholders – clients, our professionals, and shareholders – as well as within our communities.
Rakesh is the former President of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber (ICBC). During his stint, he worked toward promoting opportunities for business and bilateral trade, delivering insights, and thought leadership to engage with businesses between India and Canada. Rakesh holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from leading institutes.
