CGI has released the newest version of its proven Customized Audit System (CAS™) that empowers healthcare payer claims auditors - for
the first time ever
- to review, thoroughly investigate and
act on aberrant provider claims data, right from their work stations,
and without the intervention of scarce information systems resources.

What CGI's CAS application provides
The new CAS 4.0 version provides a simpler and more actionable business
intelligence tool to help healthcare payers manage claims reimbursements
and reduce fraud and abuse in the healthcare system. It includes enhanced
data exploration and customization capabilities that connect directly
with the audit management module allowing claims auditors to take immediate
action. CAS uses the ProClarity ® analytic tool that improves the
system's ability to drill into claims data to investigate and take
appropriate action when necessary.

The CAS system also allows payers to develop customized reports and research
to identify patterns and detect errors that auditors were not aware of
previously. With this business intelligence, payers can monitor and work
with individual providers to educate and help improve their claims performance.

CGI domain expertise
CGI is a national leader in developing claims validation software systems,
methodologies and tools for healthcare payers. It has worked with more
than one-third of Blue Cross Blue Shield plans nationwide, numerous HMOs,
self-insured employer groups, commercial insurers, state government agencies
nationally, and with the Medicare program. Currently, the CAS system is
in use with CGI payer clients whose members total more than 12 million.
Those include both clients who license the CAS system for their internal
use, and those for whom CGI provides outsourced claims auditing services.
"One of the distinguishing and most valuable aspects of CAS is that
CGI developed it as a tool to support our claims auditing services for
our clients," said Rob Rolf, healthcare principal of CGI. "Because
we use it every day, we continually work to perfect it and enhance its
features. This is what makes CAS a superior and unique solution in the
marketplace."
