Fairfax, Virginia, May 8, 2007

CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) announced today that its AMS Advantage®Human Resources Management system has been selected by Los Angeles County, California, for the next phase of its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system project. The 6 year contract is valued at up to US$84 million.

“We are extremely happy to continue our long standing relationship with Los Angeles County,” said Donna Morea, President, CGI U.S. “The first two phases of the County’s integrated ERP system using AMS Advantage Financial Management, Performance Budgeting and Procurement have been a great success. We are proud to have Los Angeles County as a partner.”

CGI and Los Angeles County, the largest county in the nation, entered into partnership on an integrated financial management system in 2004. At the time, the County was facing challenges that ranged from disparate chart of accounts, the need to improve budgetary control and labor-intensive payment processing. Using CGI’s AMS Advantage ERP solution, the County established a multi-phased approach to deliver incremental results and demonstrate value to citizens, thereby creating a foundation for success and a model for public sector agencies across the nation to follow.

Phase 1 of the project was completed on time and on budget in July 2005. This phase integrated financial management functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cost / project / grant accounting. Phase 2 includes materials management and procurement, budget preparation and Health Services Department time collection processing.

“We are very pleased with our success using CGI’s AMS Advantage financial management and budgeting applications,” said Tyler McCauley, Auditor-Controller, Los Angeles County. “Throughout our partnership, CGI has consistently illustrated a dedication to delivering results. CGI’s understanding of government and commitment to client success has helped us achieve our goals.”

“It has been an absolute pleasure to partner with Los Angeles County as they work diligently to implement its ERP strategy. The County has clear objectives and realistic goals supported by strong leadership and talented staff that are completely committed to the success of this project,” said Dave Delgado, Vice-President, CGI Los Angeles.

The newly awarded phase of the project will integrate human resource management functions, including payroll, employee self-service, position control, benefits administration and talent management to nearly 90,000 County employees. Additionally, CGI will develop and implement a new Grants Management system to help the County manage its substantial portfolio of grants. A multi-year Platinum Maintenance program that includes full support of all customizations and provides 24/7 support with a dedicated and onsite response team is also included in the contract.

CGI was selected after a rigorous validation process completed by a third party consultant engaged by the County. Los Angeles County recognized CGI’s AMS Advantage solution as providing the best value and functional fit for the County. CGI’s AMS Advantage application will bring enhanced efficiency, streamlined workflow and processes as well as cost savings to the County.

“Los Angeles County demonstrates local government’s interests in solutions that truly support the unique needs of government,” said Michael Keating, Senior Vice-President, CGI Western U.S. “AMS Advantage is the only solution designed specifically to meet this need. Los Angeles County is part of a growing list of governments that recognize the benefits of CGI’s AMS Advantage software compared to conventional commercial ERP products offered by integrators with less government experience. We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Los Angeles County.”

From cities, counties, states, schools and universities, AMS Advantage works for government at all levels and has been used by over 190 public sector clients, 55 of which have committed to upgrading to the new web-based AMS Advantage 3. Designed specifically for government, the solution incorporates CGI’s 30 years of expertise and experience in the public sector market. AMS Advantage helps governments achieve the highest level of accountability while enhancing services to their constituents, through integrated functionality, workflow and configurable processes, allowing it to significantly increase efficiency, improve access to information and reduce total cost of ownership.
