Ravi Shankar is the Senior Vice-President of operations for CGI’s U.S. Mid-Atlantic team and responsible for delivering a range of services to clients in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. His team serves commercial and government clients across multiple industries including life sciences, banking, retail, healthcare, insurance and utilities. Ravi is also an active member of CGI’s strategic industry steering team for health and life sciences, which is dedicated to bringing the best-of-CGI solutions to market. One of his pursuits is streamlining the flow of information in the “next generation” health ecosystem to improve patient outcomes at much lower costs.
Ravi’s prior role, leading the Philadelphia Metro, focused on delivering year-on-year profitable growth for CGI in the metro market. Additionally, he was responsible for influencing the life sciences strategy globally for CGI and establishing a life sciences practice in the company. Ravi strengthened CGI’s relationship with many technology partners and was the founding sponsor of the NetApp Center of Excellence. He is also a founding member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee in the U.S.
Ravi joined CGI through its merger with Paragon in December 2017 following more than a decade of consulting, architecting and implementing process automation and content management solutions in the areas of research and development, marketing, supply chain and commercial operations for global pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies. He has held executive positions leading consulting businesses, launching successful products to market and managing strategic client relationships.
Ravi is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, user groups and C-level sessions on industry trends and best practices. He holds a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India.
