CGI is pleased to have received the following designations in recognition of putting into practice our corporate social responsibilities.

2014 Ingenious Award

Alberta Health received a 2014 Ingenious Award from the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) for its Alberta Organ and Tissue Donation Registry (AOTDR), which CGI helped to build. The registry makes it easier for Albertans to register their intent and consent to become an organ, tissue and body donor.

Best Veteran Hiring Program

CGI Federal was presented in 2014 with an Excellence in Partnership (EIP) award for Best Veteran Hiring program in the United States. The EIP recognizes government agencies or contractors for executing and promoting robust and successful veteran hiring, teaming or subcontracting programs for the benefit of men and women in uniform. Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)

CGI Group Inc is an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). Following a best-in-class approach, the indices measure the performance of the world's sustainability leaders. Companies are selected for the indices based on a comprehensive assessment of long-term economic, environmental and social criteria that account for general as well as industry-specific sustainability trends. Only firms that lead their industries based on this assessment are included in the indices.

FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) Environmental Certification

CGI has earned chain of custody certification from FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) for its Quebec-based document management centers. This certification allows CGI clients to demonstrate that they promote sustainable business practices to their customers, and furthers CGI's own commitment of contributing to an improved environment. FTSE4Good Index Series

CGI is pleased to be a member of the FTSE4Good Index Series, which measures the performance of companies that meet globally-recognized corporate responsibility standards and facilitates investment in those companies.


In 2013, the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec’s (FCCQ) honored CGI with a special recognition for its entrepreneurial success. CGI also received the Maurice-Pollack Award for ethnocultural diversity from the Ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles. (Read the media announcement.)


TASICT is the premier industry body for the Information Communication Technology sector in Tasmania. CGI was awarded Best Community Application of ICT – for our Department of Education Tasmania data warehouse project and Best ICT Service – for our outsourcing work with RBF.

The Black Collegian Magazine

CGI ranked 24th in The Black Collegian Magazine’s 2013 Top 100 Employers Survey of the hiring plans of major national employers that recruit on college and university campuses for entry-level talent.

Top Employers in Europe

CGI has been certified as a 2015 European Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute. This certification is awarded only to organizations that receive local certification in more than five countries in a specific region. CGI’s European certified operations are the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Finland, the Netherlands and Sweden.

United Way – Centraide  Canada Thanks a Million Award

The Thanks a Million award is dedicated to those organizations that, through corporate generosity and the combined efforts of their employees, contribute $1,000,000 or more to United Ways – Centraides across the country. CGI has been a recipient of this award every year since 2005.

Uniterra – Leave for Change

CGI is a proud partner of the Leave for Change® program run by Uniterra, an international non-profit focused on mobilizing volunteers to fight world poverty. This program enables CGI members to serve as international volunteers in developing countries for two to three weeks. Members are sponsored by CGI, which allows them to take leave and cover part of the costs involved.


In 2013, CGI ranked 2nd best place to work among IT professionals in Finland.
