CGI’s Victoria team is looking for an eager, enthusiastic, and talented individual to fill the role of Web Team Lead. The successful candidate will lead CGI’s Web Design and Development Team, a team working with world class clients bringing ideas and concepts to life. Our design and build process is focused on the user experience and takes advantage of the latest technologies such as HTML5, Responsive Design, and best of breed Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager, Drupal and Kentico. Your future duties and responsibilities

The Web Development Team Lead will be responsible for the leading a team of web developers in the design, development, testing and delivery of all our supported web sites. Site enhancements, support and defect resolution will be required on an ongoing basis. Best practices and design methods are utilized to ensure the success of every web project and initiative.

Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work under tight deadlines, are required attributes.

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

Lead a highly skilled team of web developers, using current web technologies to design, develop, and test new and existing applications from detailed business requirements
Use storyboarding, wireframes, predesigns and prototypes as applicable to prepare detailed and accurate specifications and estimates
Provide resource management and guidance, including mentoring junior resources in Microsoft technologies and the software development life cycle
Participate on code reviews and ensure standards are applied to each solution component
Provide technical guidance and advice, such as notification of server patching and upgrade requirements as appropriate
Interact with managers/project managers in terms of reporting, assisting with proposals, and contributing to issue and risk management
Provide leadership with incident, problem and change management
Manage web requests, including prioritizing and overseeing ticket management, and escalating as necessary
Participate in estimating and initiative initiation and planning
Engage in continuous improvement, including identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Minimal 6 years web development roles
Minimal 2 years in a leadership role
Post Secondary Education in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Extensive Full stack LAMP developer experience
Strong development skills in HTML, HTML5, XML/XSL, Drupal, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, Adobe AEM, Working Knowledge of GIT, SVN
Strong Database skills, working primarily with MySQL, SQLServer, Postgress and Oracle
Basic hosting and Application Server knowledge: Apache, Tomcat, IIS
Some Unix (Linux and Solaris) administration knowledge
Strong verbal, written, facilitation and presentation communication skills in English (and French is a bonus!)
Aptitude for trouble-shooting and problem-solving
Ability to thrive in a fast paced working environment.
