CGI is looking for an Analytics Developer to join our expanding team in Burnaby, British Columbia to help our customers on their digital transformation journey.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their data analytics career in an agile environment. The ideal person for this role has extensive hands-on experience in developing end-to-end analytics-based solutions using Microsoft tools, including but not limited to data set ingestion and transformation, data manipulation and formula creation for tabular and multidimensional models, report development , and creation of dashboards.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The Analytics Developer will assist in the creation of a secure framework for how data, reports, and dashboards are managed.

In addition, the Analytics Developer will participate in the creation of technical and functional guidance documentation and will provide presentations and training for technical staff and power users.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

The successful candidate:

Demonstrates experience in developing warm relationships with clients
Collaborates well in a team environment
Is self-motivated, creative and eager to learn
Has proficient oral and written communication skills
Has a willingness to embrace and help drive change in our clients
Demonstrates proficiency using multiple data sources to develop strategies with outputs that are insightful and actionable
Demonstrates proficiency in data manipulation for tabular and multidimensional models
Is familiar with data warehousing principles and has experience with ELT/ETL methodologies, Software Algorithm Design, and Software Performance Tuning

Required experience:

3-8+ years of Business Intelligence/Data Analytics development experience with a primary focus on Microsoft technologies (Azure, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
2+ years of development experience using Microsoft Power BI (Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query, Power View)
Strong concepts of fueling business process improvement and decision making through effective use of data
Strong understanding of SQL, MDX, DAX, or similar database programming technologies.
Able to work independently to implement a solution with minimal guidance.
Communicate effectively with both business, technical stakeholders as well as executive leadership.

Preference will be given to candidates that have these additional skills:

Scrum team membership
Mathematics or statistical background
Data mining / machine learning experience
Python or R scripting
