CGI in Canada – Community involvement

Committed to investing in our communities

CGI was founded in Canada and has been doing business in the country and abroad for nearly four decades. We believe strongly in the obligation to give back to the communities in which we work and live—in fact, it’s one of our core corporate values. We invest in a wide range of charitable, economic and cultural causes across the country to benefit our fellow citizens and to drive the development and prosperity of our local communities.

National and local causes

CGI is a strong support of national organization such as United Way/Centraide Canada. Every year, since 2005, we’ve been a recipient of its Thanks a Million Award, given to organizations that, through corporate generosity and the combined efforts of their employees, contribute $1,000,000 or more to the charity.

We also encourage and support the involvement of our members in a wide range of local causes—from building houses for Habitat for Humanity, to raising funds to fight cancer through the annual Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, to organizing art exhibitions that showcase the work of local artists while raising funds for charity.

Partnering with clients

In addition, we support the charitable causes of our clients, participating, for example, in Bombardier’s annual plane pull and The Beer Store’s annual bottle drive—Returns for Leukemia—among other activities. By joining forces with clients, we can do even more to serve our local communities, as well as forge stronger client relationships.

Giving back is a CGI passion and tradition in Canada, and we look forward to continuing to serve our communities as we continue to help our Canadian clients grow and succeed.
