CGI Group Inc (NYSE: GIB; TSX: GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services raised $109,000 for the National Capital Area Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society® (LLS) through its participation in the Team In Training® (TNT) program.
LLS’ TNT program is the largest endurance training group in the country, extending participation to all fitness abilities with comprehensive training by certified coaches. Participants raise funds to help in the fight against leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.
“CGI has been a wonderful partner for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society over the years,” said National Capital Area Chapter Executive Director Donna McKelvey. “The corporate Team In Training program is their latest venture with the National Capital Area Chapter, and we thank them for their continued dedication and tireless efforts supporting our mission.”
Over the last six months, 54 U.S. CGI members joined the TNT program and competed in 9 endurance races across the country. CGI reimbursed members registration fees and contributed up to 50% in matched funds. As part of its fundraising achievements, CGI was able to name a grant focused on researching childhood leukemia.
