We are currently seeking candidates to join our successful Federal organization as a Lead Software Developer for our Flight Software (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) projects.

This position would be responsible for integrating G&C algorithms and C&DH (Command and Data Handling) elements into our flight software.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The Flight Software Development Lead will serve as an integral member of our newly expanding focus into the Federal Space area. The Flight Software Development team members are usually involved in many satellite missions and proposals at the same time which means you can combine the development of new systems for upcoming missions with critical and/or routine operations for active satellites in space.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

SUMMARY:
Experience in the development and testing of space vehicle flight software and software simulations, system design, and overall software engineering.

• Master of Science degree in Engineering field preferred; Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering field required
• 5-10 years of experience in software engineering, preferably embedded full life-cycle software development
• Significant C++ and Python experience (5 years+ preferred) in a Linux environment
• Experience with modeling and simulations in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) systems and/or other spacecraft systems
• Ability to communicate system-level solutions and technical direction, both to government sponsors and to team members.
• Are able to obtain SECRET level security clearance.

If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

• Experience with NASA Goddard Operations
• Familiarity with flight software libraries, applications, and frameworks including NASA's cFE (Core Flight Executive)
• Experience using Matlab's Embedded Code Generation and Simulink
• Experience working with spacecraft control systems, navigation algorithms or image processing.
• Experience in supporting NASA and other government sector contracts
