POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Critical member of Agile team delivering new business function to the client’s customer and internal business users. Dynamic work environment and fast paced. Working with leading technologies and Agile Methods.

Senior role on a Cloud Modernization effort to help client modernization a major commercial insurance business application.
Role of Product Owner is to be a leader on an Agile team based on the Scaled Agile Framework. The Product Owner responsibilities will include:
• Work with client Product Manager to prioritize needs, PI objectives, release content and features
• Program backlog refinement and assist in PI planning activities
• Engaged in story definitions, assist agile team in story estimates and sequencing
• Iteration execution would include: maintaining the team backlog, reviewing and reprioritizing stories in the backlog, accepting stories
• Participate in team demo and retrospective
• Ultimately the PO is acting as the customer proxy for the Agile team and interfacing with Product Management and other stakeholders including other POs involved in the larger Release Train.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The specific duties of the PO for the client facing role would be the Product Owner is to be a leader on an Agile team based on the Scaled Agile Framework. The Product Owner responsibilities will include:

• Ultimately the PO is acting as the customer proxy for the Agile team and interfacing with Product Management and other stakeholders including other POs involved in the larger Release Train.

In addition to the client specific activities, CGI expects the PO to a key member of the CGI Agile team within the business unit helping coach and train resources in SAFe and assist in growing our Agile practice.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Clearly identify the essential qualification vs the desired qualifications. What skills/experience must this person have to be considered?
• Previous experience as a Product Owner on an multi-team Agile Release Train
• Experience implementing software projects using Agile methodologies
• SAFe Agile certification is preferred, but at a minimum SAFe training and experience on multiple project Agile projects with at least one where the person was the Product Owner leading their Agile Team.
• Strong communications skill
• General knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry
• Preferred, but note required: Experience working as a consultant onsite at a client
• Preferred, but not required: Experience with Commercial Insurance and Underwriting
