Position Description

We are looking for a Java Engineer to work with our dynamic CGI team in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Your future duties and responsibilities

This Java Engineer should have experience-working full-stack, but has the flexibility to work backend/server-side more. We are looking for an engineer who has to have the ability to build Restful APIs from scratch.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Self motivated problem solver with demonstrated passion for delivering high quality modular code

• Extensive object-oriented software development and domain design.

• 7+ years of experience in designing and developing highly scalable and performant distributed applications using Java, JavaScript, Python and/or Scala

• Good Understanding of SOA/REST concepts and experience in developing and consuming SOAP and RESTful web services (JAX-WS and JAX-RS)

• RESTful API specification, implementation, JSON and solid documentation will be a plus (or SOAP web service experience with leanings towards REST)

• Experienced in using open source tools/projects, such as Spring, Jersey, Hibernate, kafka etc.

• Strong system and application troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

• Real world experience with SQL data store for java applications, Java ORM tools like Hibernate/JPA. Production MySQL is a plus

• Unit tests as you go: Experience with at least one of the frameworks like JUnit, TestNG

• Best development practice around Unit testing, Design patterns, continuous integration, code review and continuous deployment

• Java ecosystem for daily development : Spring/Play framework, Apache *,Ant/Maven/Gradle, Tomcat/Jetty/TomEE, Jenkins

Educational Requirement
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
