CGI Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of CGI, has an opening for a Central Contract Specialist in its Oakland, CA office. This role supports a multi-year business process services contract CGI Federal has with a local housing authority, that is aligned with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to provide contract administration services for project based Section 8 properties. You will help administer a program that provides much needed affordable housing to eligible families!
Accordingly, the Contract Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of assisted housing contracts to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all required tasks.
Your future duties and responsibilities
• Perform detailed reconciliation of monthly payments to property owners;
• Renew expiring Housing Assistance Payment contracts;
• Maintain positive relations with owners, residents and their representatives, neighborhood groups, local governments and US Department of Housing & Urban Development staff;
• Perform rental adjustments including budget analyses and utility analyses;
• Process special claims;
• Maintain customer files and records retention in accordance with policy;
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
The work requires the ability to meet deadlines consistently and accurately; time management and the ability to successfully manage several different tasks with competing priorities is necessary. Travel up to 25% may also be necessary.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To qualify for this position, applicants must have knowledge of HUD rules and regulations governing the HUD Section 8 project-based housing program or the ability to learn this information through the training program provided. Affordable Housing administration experience a plus.
In addition, applicants must be proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be comfortable working with numbers.
A bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience required.
A quick learner who can prioritize and meet a constant stream of deadlines. Ideal candidates will be personable, a team player who can also function independently, and someone who can adapt to new requirements or changes in procedure with relative ease.
