Your future duties and responsibilities
You will provide application support and database administration to our key clients on a VLDB with multiple partitioning strategies. This typically comprises of Application Support to identify data anomalies and code defects; PL/SQL and SQL statement tuning; Application releases and deployments together with Database Administration; Capacity Planning; Performance Monitoring and Tuning. You will react to, and resolve incidents, via a Remedy (ITSM) call management system with strict SLA deadlines, and perform planned releases both in and out of core business hours supporting a bespoke application for our high profile client.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
You'll ideally be an experienced PL/SQL Developer/Support Analyst who is familiar with Oracle Database Administration or as an all-round Oracle database specialist. You’ll bring experience of working as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, Support Analyst or DBA. You’ll be have demonstrable knowledge of PL/SQL and ideally have also had exposure to Oracle partitioning, RAC, Dataguard and RMAN. The database is Oracle 11g running on Unix. We'll also provide additional training as well to supplement your knowledge and, if you don't already hold it, Oracle Certification.

Due to the critical nature of the work you must either already hold, or be willing and eligible to hold, UK Security Clearance to SC level.
