From the moment you join CGI, as a Senior Product Manager you'll be playing a vital role in the services we deliver to our clients. We're working with key Clients in Utilities to transform the way their services work. We need a Product Manager to lead our Agile delivery teams on a variety of exciting, cutting edge digital transformation projects.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As a Senior Product manager you will oversee all aspects of software development for a software development team using agile methods. You’ll be responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating agile teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with programme standards.

Your background in delivering multiple agile projects directly will ensure that you are capable of managing teams, typically to deliver a specific product or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team. You will define delivery needs and feed these to the programme manager to enable resource to be appropriately allocated. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.

As well as the technical aspects of the role you will also be expected to manage agile teams on a daily basis or as required; assist in team development while holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organisational resources to improve capacity for project work; responsibility for ensuring team members track their time using the appropriate in-house system; and mentoring and developing team members.

This role will involve extensive interaction with customers, senior stakeholders, management and third party sub-contractors.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

You will need to demonstrate experience as a scrum master or delivery manager in a client facing team, successfully implementing software development projects using agile methodologies, managing projects of medium size and complexity in a high-tech development environment with cross functional teams.

A key part of your role will be collaborating with the developers on the programme. You will require a sufficient level of technical background and a solid understanding of software development life-cycle to provide highly credible leadership to teams and to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues.

You must have had experience of taking a product from proof of concept through to delivery of the product to the market. Ideally you will have had exposure to the Utilities sector, particular for an energy company or a consultancy that has worked with an energy company. However it is not essential that you have Utilities sector experience.

You should ideally have a track record of the successful delivery of at least one large, complex Agile project and two medium sized projects working as an integral part of the delivery team.

You will have the skills and ability to promote empowerment of the team, ensuring each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encouraging a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.

Strong analytical, organisational, and presentation skills are essential combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to manage expectations and issues effectively and establish/maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.
