CGI is looking for a Data Warehouse Architect for its expanding data analytics team in Burnaby, British Columbia to help our customers on their digital transformation journey.
Your future duties and responsibilities
This position is ideal for someone who is looking to take on a leadership role in delivering complex IT solutions to provincial and municipal governments, and commercial clients. The ideal person for this role has over 4 years of experience in data architecture in a business intelligence/data analytics environment working with stakeholders and technical teams to set data architecture principles, model data to enable the implementation of the intended business architecture, create documents and diagrams describing key data entities, build an inventory of the data needed to implement the solution, and map systems and interfaces used to manage data. The Data Architect will not only be able to understand and articulate customer data requirements in a form consumable by other members of the technical team but also help drive innovation by understanding clients' data governance and data management processes and provide meaningful recommendations on how these processes could be improved. A willingness to embrace and help drive change in our clients is an important asset.
We help our customers with many different types of projects covering a variety of different business scenarios including business intelligence, document and records management, customer relationship management, asset management, and enterprise resource planning. As such the Data Architect needs to have the skills to apply data architecture principles to different situations and be able to build close relationships with both client staff and CGI members.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate must demonstrate a breadth of understanding of established and emerging data technologies in cloud and on premise environments. Experience with tools such as columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, working with very large datasets, and working with unstructured data are all assets for this role.
