CGI-AMS to design, build and implement new case management system for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office

US$2.9 million contract to develop completely customized system

Cleveland, Ohio, August 2, 2005 -  CGI-AMS, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of CGI Group Inc., was selected by the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO) to design, build and implement a customized, state-of-the-art case management system. The contract award is valued at US$2.9 million.

When the system is implemented, it will completely integrate information across all 13 units in the Prosecutor's Office, eliminate unnecessary data entry, and generate accurate reporting and statistics. It creates a centralized system for managing 18,000 criminal cases, 11,000 juvenile cases, 5,000 civil cases, 3,500 Children and Family Services cases, and 7,000 child support cases annually. Additionally, it allows the CCPO to address storage issues in case volume, expected to increase from the current 285,000 cases to 365,000 cases within the next year.

“The system is part of an overall initiative in the County Prosecutor's Office to improve the efficiency and delivery of services, and increase volume and performance levels, without increasing staff,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason. “It is an investment that will pay for itself and improve our ability to serve the citizens of Cuyahoga County.”

Greg Robinson, director of consulting services for CGI-AMS, said, “We have implemented solutions for many justice agencies around the country, from implementing Web-based electronic filing solutions and document management systems to developing applications for public access of court records and documents. We are proud to have the opportunity to develop a leading edge system right here in our own backyard.”

CGI is one of the largest independent information technology and business process services firms in North America. Its Greater Cleveland Regional office based in Cleveland employs nearly 400, nearly half of whom reside in Cuyahoga County.
