MIPS

CGI's consistent "first on the street", high-quality rate implementations has earned the respect of over 30 carriers who use our applications to process over 50% of the automobile policies written in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

What does MIPS do?

MIPS meets the challenges of the Massachusetts regulatory environment head-on, relieving companies of the need to maintain separate systems to satisfy the unique automobile insurance requirements. From data collection and policy processing to billing and claims administration, MIPS can meet each carrier's precise requirements, no matter how extensive they may be.

Representative examples of MIPS services include:

  • Efficient, accurate implementation of state-mandated rates and carriers' competitive rate filings
  • Incorporation of automated processes and controls to meet stringent mandatory reporting requirements
  • Automated risk analysis, based on each carrier's specifications
  • Management and distribution of policy-related and billing output
  • Billing administration, including finance charges

How does MIPS work?

Most users enter data via CollaborativeEdge, CGI's Web browser-based application, but MIPS also interfaces with databases in carriers' billing, claims, or policy administration systems—and at regulatory and industry service bureaus—for automated content acquisition. MIPS rates and processes the transactions, then manages the resulting output according to each company's specifications. An array of options, from automatic policy number assignment and company-specific edits to agent mail services and custom interfaces, provide the flexibility and controls to meet companies' unique business requirements.
