Community investment and involvement

Contributing to the communities in which we live and work

CGI believes that our long-term success depends on our ability to develop the communities where clients, members and shareholders live and work. To maintain a healthy balance between our stakeholder interests, we take into account the development of these communities and participate in their long-term sustainable growth. Participating in this growth takes the form of financial investments as well as volunteer involvement in community organizations.

Each year CGI typically gives 1 percent of its pre-tax earnings in cash, contributions and in-kind donations.

Our community investment and involvement is driven by CGI’s client proximity business model, which organizes operations around local offices. Through this model, business unit leaders and members are given the authority to choose the best way CGI contributes. By localizing our community commitment, CGI ensures that members serve the long-term interests of their communities and adapt their activities to best meet their communities’ needs.

In this manner, CGI is not narrowed by a central community obligation, but contributes both financially and through volunteer and pro-bono activities to a broad spectrum of charitable and other not-for-profit organizations that contribute to the development of our communities in which we operate.
